2018 National Conference: Treating Complex Trauma in Systems of Care
The Complex Trauma Treatment Network is a Category II National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN) Center established in 2009 to develop, adapt and disseminate evidence-based practices (EBP) for children and adolescents impacted by complex trauma (CT). The 2018 National Conference seeks to fulfill the training, technical assistance, and sustainability objectives of the CTTN through workshop offerings on complex trauma treatment and EBP implementation in residential and juvenile justice treatment systems.
The 2018 National Conference will feature:
The Complex Trauma Treatment Network is a Category II National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN) Center established in 2009 to develop, adapt and disseminate evidence-based practices (EBP) for children and adolescents impacted by complex trauma (CT). The 2018 National Conference seeks to fulfill the training, technical assistance, and sustainability objectives of the CTTN through workshop offerings on complex trauma treatment and EBP implementation in residential and juvenile justice treatment systems.
The 2018 National Conference will feature:
- Expert faculty presentations on the impact of CT on neurobiology, development and attachment;
- Workshops about the Attachment Regulation Competency Framework (ARC) and Structured Psychotherapy for Adolescents Responding to Chronic Stress (SPARCS) CT EBP model implementation, adaptation, and model sustainability.
- Workshops about EBP treatment considerations and adaptations in residential treatment and juvenile justice treatment settings.
- Networking and collaboration around challenges, strategies, and lessons learned with EBP complex trauma interventions in residential and juvenile justice settings.
- Introduction to the complex trauma evaluation and responding to disasters and mass violence.
Conference Program
CONTINUING EDUCATION
The Justice Resource Institute (JRI) is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. JRI maintains responsibility for this program and its content.
PREREQUISITES
This training is appropriate for advanced, intermediate and beginning student/early career mental health clinicians (including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, master’s level counselors, clinical nurse specialists, marriage and family counselors and other providers who work with adults, children or families), allied professionals (including case managers, school personnel educational advocates, milieu personnel, social service organization administrators and leaders, state agency personnel, law enforcement, judicial personnel and advocates, early-interventionists, clergy, community-leaders and activists, and artists for change), and state agency personnel, behavioral health services administrators, faith-based, tribal and nonprofit organization leaders interested in applying trauma-informed principles toward enhancing trauma-informed systems for the individual, families and communities they serve in order to mobilize change, empower minds and bodies, ameliorate health disparities and reroute healthy life trajectories that have been disrupted by familial trauma, social adversity, chronic oppression and community violence.
