Dr. Rocio Chang-Angulo, Psy.D.

University of Connecticut
Picture
Dr. Rocio Chang-Angulo specializes in working with multicultural youth and families, including a large Puerto Rico Learning Community, where she adapted and translated educational materials about DTD for educators and clinicians. Currently, she is developing a Spanish curriculum on the intersection of domestic violence, mental health and trauma with the Connecticut Coalition against Domestic Violence and the National Alliance of Mental Illness.  She reviewed/edited the first Spanish translation of the TARGET therapy manual, including adaptations designed to increase client participation and retention.  Dr. Chang-Angulo has also worked with several grass root organizations to ensure that the voices of families and youth are included in treatment development and dissemination. She serves as a community faculty and research consultant, overseeing cultural competence, peer support practices and active participation of mental health consumers in the delivery of mental health services.
